26/11 Mumbai Attacks : 14 years ago, when terrorism shook Mumbai
26/11 Mumbai Attacks - On this day, 14 years ago in 2008, 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists attacked different places in Mumbai. 166 people were killed and more than 300 people were injured in this incident.
Fourteen years ago today, 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists attacked on Mumbai and Mumbai remained in the grip of terror for 3 days.
These days the terrorists a railway station, the Taj Hotel, a hospital, a restaurant and many other places in Mumbai were attacked and Mumbai caused heavy damage.
In the Mumbai attack of 26/11, 9 out of 10 terrorists were killed and Amir Ajmal Kasab was caught alive. And Ajmal was hanged in 2012.
The nine terrorists who were killed
(1) Ismail Khan (25 yrs) r/o Dera Ismail Khan, NWFP, Pakistan
(2) Babar Imran (25 yrs) r/o Multan, Pakistan
(3) Naser (23 yrs) r/o Faisalabad, Pakistan
(4) Shoaib (21 yrs) r/o Shakkargarh Naroval, Sialkoat, Pakistan.
(5) Nazir (28 yrs) r/o Faisalabad, Pakistan
(6) Hafiz Arshad (Bada — 23 yrs) r/o Multan, Pakistan.
(7) Javed (22 yrs) r/o Okara, Pakistan
(8) Abdur Rehman (Chhota — 21 yrs) r/o Arifwala, Multan Road, Pakistan.
(9) Fahadulta (23 yrs) r/o Ujrashah Mukim, Rasur Road, Okara,
Punjab, Pakistan.
Remembering the martyrs in the 26/11 attack, Indian politicians paid tribute, President of India Draupadi Murmu tweeted - " On the anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai terror Attacks, the nation remembers with gratitude all those we lost. We share the enduring pain of their loved ones and families. Nation pays homage to the security personal who fought valiantly and made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty."
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said remembering the martyrs - "Terrorism threatens humanity. Today, on 26/11, the world joins India in remembering its victims. Those who planned and oversaw this attack must be brought to justice. We owe this to every victim of terrorism around the world. "
